The testing battery is proprietary as is the computer analysis. In order to understand
our approach to testing we would like you to know that the testing battery consists of thirteen individual tests and
several auxillary tests. Many of the tests are standardized and the rest are criteria referenced. The results are then
scored and then analyzed by a program written by Dr. Wesson and then the summary of the areas tested are graphed in an easy
to understand format.
The general areas we evaluate include 1) Auditory processing, 2) Motor-free visual processing,
3) Intersensory integration 4) Visual-motor processing, 5) Basic letter recoginition, 6) Reading decoding and 7) Spelling.
In addition, we administer a test especially designed to diagnose the type and depth of dyslexia and that result
is integrated into the final results. Other tests designed to measure letter reversals and speech quality are administered as
supplemental testing.
The test battery is usually administered by our center director but could be administered
by one of our staff members. The results are computer scored, analyzed and reviewed by Dr. Wesson who writes the final
report. The case is then discussed with the parent(s) by our center director Mrs. Cindy Loftin and the plan implemented.
